Ability to exclude/ignore folders

The ability to ignore specific folders (e.g. exact path) and based on a regex/if the text is in the path, etc. is critical.
I have a lot of folders with files I want to exclude because they contain a lot of useless files and this seems like a critical features in general. Almost every search tool I've seen has this feature.
